UNGUIDED TOURS

With the help of the visitor guide book, which is on sale at reception, you are free to decide where to walk and learn the story of Sainte-Croix-en-Jarez, a former Carthusian monastery that became a village. The tour will bring you into the courtyards, you will go around this building over 200 metres long and, at the end, you can view the whole village from a viewpoint.

- Learning with all the family.
With “Arkéo-Kid”, an amusing and instructive mystery game, you can explore the places with your children. A discovery trail for budding young archaelogists in the former Carthusian monastery of Sainte-Croix-en-Jarez.

GUIDED TOURS  

- Tour of the whole site.
To learn more about the history of the Carthusian monastery and the village, and to be able to go into the former monks’ living areas, you can go on a guided tour lasting around 1 hour.
For individuals, the times of tours vary according to the time of year.
For groups of 12 or more people, there are tours all year round.
Booking is obligatory

- In the footsteps of Béatrix.
A hike that places the monastery in its natural environment, followed by a meal in the “Le Cartusien” restaurant, then a guided tour of the former Carthusian monastery.
For groups of 6 people or more

- Un soir à la Chartreuse (an evening in the Chartreuse)
A meal of medieval inspiration in the “Le Prieuré” restaurant followed by a lantern-lit night tour will immerse you in the monastic atmosphere of Sainte Croix en Jarez.
